Dell, Inc. is well known for its dramatic and continually improving operational performance in terms of unit cost, inventory level, production capacity, and labor efficiency. This is built for business and IT professionals and can be tailored to specific business or end user needs with certified applications and professional services. Keeping its consumer tablets business aside, Dell has tried to focus on devices that straddle both work and play. Dell has claimed that its future tablets and smartphones will be aimed at audiences that want them for both business and personal use. With all this, Dell is trying to establish a larger presence in enterprises. Dell has already released Streak tablets with different screen sizes that run on Google's Android OS, and Venue smartphones that use both Android and Microsoft's Windows Phone operating systems.

The Dell Latitude ST tablet is an expansion to the Latitude line of laptops and desktops for businesses. It's got up to 6 hours of battery life on the four-cell battery and comes with a capacitive multi-touch display and pen for writing. Adding a separate keyboard is optional to the tablet to turn it into a PC, but the tablet form factor is more advantageous as it is highly portable. With a support of Gorilla Glass technology, even a scratch of a sharp object won't do any damage to its touch-surface. The connectivity options available in Dell's Latitude ST include 3G and mobile broadband options, 720p front/5.0MP back camera and Skype video conferencing facilities. Other options include TV connectivity, easy photo sharing, and network printing option, along with optional docking station.

There are advantages to having a tablet with Windows 7 that it can free you to be productive as well as playful. Apart from this, Latitude ST is loaded with business-optimized features that will help us do more. With assurance of 270mm (10.1) WXGA (1280x800) display, with Latitude ST we can capture images on the go with a front-facing 720p camera and a 5.0MP back-facing camera. The specs are among the best on paper but the only worry that may seem to bother buyers is the Atom processor it runs on, since Windows 7 as the OS implies a huge amount of multi-tasking. On the whole, the Dell Latitude weighs 816 grams and is 15mm thick. If sources are to be believed, things like battery life, price, and app support further add to the device's disadvantage. Let's see if Dell Latitude ST is going to create some magic or it'll remain 'just another tablet in the existing market'.
