Innovations, which are made out of the way, breaking pre-conceived notions, are always remembered and looked forward to. Similar is the case with Blackberry, which has always come up with great attributes that make a distinction in an ocean of entry-level handsets, where users have a notion that it would have QWERTY keyboard only. Blackberry with its Curve series, Blackberry Curve 9380, broke that notion and entered the market for the first time with full-sized touch display along with thin & slick design.

Similar to the existing BlackBerry Curve models, the BlackBerry Curve 9380 is light in weight and it comes with a 3.2 inch LCD touch screen. It has a 5 megapixels autofocus camera with LED flash which performs well in daylight, but indoors and under low light, a fair bit of noise does creep in. Curve 9380 carries a 512 MB of internal storage plus a microSD slot for more storage space. It runs on a 800MHz processor which makes the performance commendable, and run on BlackBerry OS7 smoothly. Not only this, it is crafted so beautifully that it fits easily into your holster and gives you a great feeling. The touchscreen is very responsive and much more comfortable to type on compared to any other touchscreen from BlackBerry so far, which is a welcome change. Apart from this, even 40% brightness is readable under sunlight. It is able to run the standard social networking and messenger applications with all BlackBerry services in the background with ease. On the other hand, with multiple apps running in the background, there is no room for slowdowns - mainly in navigation and application launching. It has also got an impressive audio quality with loud ringtones, music output from the speaker and crystal clear audio quality in voice calls.

To further add on, to create a buzz Blackberry Curve 9380 added some cool technology; NFC (Near Field Communications) and Augmented Reality. NFC technology allows interacting with our surroundings in a whole new way via which we can read and create smart tags; tap to connect with posters to access content, or sync up with NFC-enabled accessories. And as for Augmented Reality, this app allows to hold up your device and, using the camera, explore the world around you. For example if we are standing in front of an important landmark, we just need to point our BlackBerry Curve 9380 at it and let Wikitude tell everything about it. Therefore, with a few glitches like lack of HD video recording and autofocus and navigations buttons bit hard to press, this is an affordable entrant under Blackberry’s umbrella.
